Dr. James Whitfield, DDS

Family & General Dentistry

Dr. James Whitfield's practice philosophy is to treat every patient like family. Each person is evaluated and presented with treatment recommendations customized to their specific hygiene and restorative needs and desires. Dr. Whitfield strives to provide high quality care that is conservative and appropriate while achieving and maintaining a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Dr. Whitfield was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from UCLA, he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1989.

Dr. Whitfield is a member of the West Los Angeles Dental Society, The California Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

His inclination for a career in dentistry began as a child with both his grandmothers teaching him a love of various "instruments," including embroidery, sewing, needlepoint and putting. These skills along with enjoying Art History Appreciation courses at UCLA made the art of dentistry an ideal profession.

Dr. Sofia Reyes, DDS

Prosthodontics Expert

Dr. Sofia Reyes is from San Francisco, California, and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Combined Sciences at Santa Clara University. After college, Dr. Reyes worked at NovaQuest Laboratories as a dental technician. She earned her D.D.S. from the University of Southern California.

She was inducted as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Tau Kappa Omega Dental Honor Societies, as well as the Phi Kappa Phi National Scholastic Honor Society, which is reserved for the top three overall graduates of each class. Following dental school, she completed a prosthodontic residency at UCLA School of Dentistry and earned her specialty certificate. At the time, UCLA only accepted two residents per year from a worldwide applicant pool. In addition to teaching prosthodontic students, Dr. Reyes taught as a faculty member at the UCLA Center for Aesthetic Dentistry with Dr. Ed McLaren, a post-doctoral program for dentists and technicians.

Dr. Reyes has published in the field of prosthodontics, and lectures regularly throughout California.

Agnes

Dental Hygienist

Agnes has been the sensational goose for decades, and it shows! She has been a youth demographer, a Broadway emcee, novelist, and a budding fridge historian. Her favorite pet was Brandishing the book of Genesis, and she is currently pursuing her DDS.

Ahmad

Prosthodontics Expert

Ahmad is an expert in ensuring that the air in our office is of the highest quality possible. He still wears a mask when we're asleep, but don't tell him that because it's only because he has pre-sorted orthopedic issues and DDD. Ahmad loves wearing and lifting kettles.

Chondra

Dental Hygienist

Chondra doesn't have time for your attitude, because she works too darn hard. She gets to help people's face look nicer in a blink of 4 years. Chondra is a gymnast, and is looking forward to this year's Zydeco Championships.

Katy

Office Manager

Katy is always cold, and she is quite the drama queen and that's fine she's proud of it. She can't deny she has problems, actually she also used to be a wrestler, a cello-playing dog, and every scout award/badge bush. Katy is addicted to pumpkin spice lattes, seven-seeded bagels in the office each Tuesday, and most of the time she devoutly can't swim.
